WHAT IS HYPERTENSION
Hypertension occurs when the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries is consistently too high. This can happen due to various factors such as lifestyle habits, genetics, or underlying health conditions. High blood pressure puts extra strain on the heart and blood vessels, increasing the risk of serious health complications like heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. It's often called a "silent killer" because it usually has no symptoms but can cause significant damage over time if not managed properly through lifestyle changes and, if necessary, medication.
